About Ty Haf at Tyglyn Lodge
Ty Haf is an oak framed building, fully insulated with electric heating at the touch of a button. It is furnished with an antique brass bed, sumptuous bedding and electric blanket, shower room with powerful electric Mira shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. The kitchen area has granite work surfaces, fridge with small freezer, sink/drainer, microwave, double electric hob, kettle and toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, just enough for basic catering. In the Ty Haf garden, there is a Swim Spa, available for the use of guests between 8am-11am and 5pm-7pm (£6 for half an hour). The Swim Spa is a wonderful mix of swim and hot tub, heated to at least 32 degrees to allow users to enjoy an energetic swim against jet streams, similar to river or sea swimming, and then to relax in one of the spa seats to unwind. What more could you want after a day exploring the West Wales countryside (home of Hinterland/Y Gwyll), pretty local towns and villages. (Or, just as exhilarating, take a dip before breakfast!) The property is situated just outside the village of Ciliau Aeron, about half a mile off the main road of Aberaeron just 4 miles away, where there is a choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. It’s also 9 miles from Lampeter. There is a hotel with restaurant in reasonable walking distance (Tyglyn Hotel, good quality and reasonable choice). Ty Haf is a no smoking property, but smokers can use the garden. No dogs, please. Access is along level slated garden paths, which would not be suited to wheel chair users. There is a step down in to the garden area, and step up in to the Ty Haf.
This is our local seaside town with a quaint harbour and pebble beaches. There are a wide range of restaurants and cafés, providing a good choice of cuisine at varying prices. There is a small supermarket, excellent butcher and on the quay you will find fresh fish next to The Hive – a “must visit” for the honey ice cream to savour sitting on the harbour wall. Good food is also served here all day. The Harbour Master Hotel is a small, boutique hotel with bar meals (still quite posh) in the trendy wine bar or fine dining in their restaurant. Definitely worth booking in advance for the dining room. The Cellar is another family run restaurant situated on the waterside with good, local food. The Summer Grill is another good option for steak or fish.
This is available for the use of guests at £6 per session (30 mins) between 8am-11am and 5pm-7pm. With mood lighting for after dark, and attractive deck surround, it offers a superb way of exercising whatever the weather conditions, throughout the year. Swim against the jets at a level to suit you, then after a good workout, relax in the hydrotherapy spa seats for the complete unwind. The Ty Haf has bath robes included in the accommodation price.
